Diversity
Diversity covers characteristics, identities and their intersectionality. There are more than 30 types of diversity characteristics in the workplace ranging from race and ethnicity to age and ability. They also include gender identity and expression, socioeconomic status, religious beliefs, and geographic region.
The Public Relations Society of America – Mid-America Chapter believes that diversity is inviting someone to a party and inclusion is inviting them to dance. We believe our unique experiences, cultures and backgrounds make us stronger as a chapter and a profession. We champion diversity and inclusion by inviting and involving chapter members who represent a broad spectrum of differences. We also encourage participation in chapter leadership and our programming.
We proudly bring diverse voices to the table every step of the way. We proactively promote inclusion and respect within our organization and encourage our members to become and remain champions of diversity, equity and inclusion at their organizations.
